A cost effective and thorough option if you’re worried about content, pacing, or other big picture issues.

• Focuses on clarifying a project’s content and structure, including plot consistency, chapter organization, characterization, dialogue, themes, and pacing.

• Full report on your manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses with suggestions. See an Example of a Manuscript Report.

• No direct editing to the manuscript, but comments/suggestions will be made where necessary.

• Okay to send rough drafts or final drafts; unfinished or missing scenes are acceptable.

Example: For an average-length novel (80,000 words), a manuscript assessment would cost approximately CA$640.

A double-pass check of sentence structure, grammar, and spelling for any final draft project.

• Combination line edit (stylistic edit) and copy edit which checks all technical and mechanical aspects of your project.

• Corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as suggestions on paragraph length, sentence structure, and word choice (includes style sheet).

• Project must be complete for this service (no missing or to-be-added scenes or chapters).

• Project does not need to be formatted for print.

Example: For an average-length novel (80,000 words), a copy edit would cost approximately CA$1,440.

The final look before taking your project to digital or print publication.​

• Focuses on formatting: no widows, orphans, or rivers.

• Ensures consistency of headers, paging, and paragraphs.

• Double check for any remaining typos.

• This service is only available for finished, ready-to-publish projects.

• Format for eBook (epub, mobi, and PDF) and print layout (trim size required).

• If you do not have a style sheet, a 2.5% premium will apply.

Example: For an average-length novel (80,000 words), a proofread would cost approximately CA$960 (or $984 without a style sheet).

For projects under 1,000 words.​

• Great for multiple short works (comic scripts, blog posts, short articles or essays).

• As long as each piece is under 1,000 words, editing services are based on a flat fee of CA$15.
